FORTUNE -- The death of Carroll Shelby last week got me thinking about what race car drivers do after they pull into the pit lane for the last time. Some, like Shelby, have made even bigger names for themselves off-track than on.
Shelby was a consummate promoter and entrepreneur. After winning Le Mans in 1959, he retired from the sport with a heart ailment and dabbled in a variety of ventures. Besides developing the Shelby Cobra and the Shelby Mustang GT350, he lent his name and expertise to Ford ( , Fortune 500 ) and Chrysler for various projects with varying success. And that wasn't all. According to his obituary, he also ran an African safari business, dealt in diamonds, and invested in radio stations, motels, cattle ranches, and restaurants. In his spare time, Shelby founded the Terlingua International Chili Championship in Terlingua, Texas, and his name appears on boxes of Carroll Shelby's Original Texas Brand Chili Preparation

Yes you read that right, this battery is 3900 mAh — giving you over two times the battery life of the stock 1750 mAh battery provided by Samsung. Being a little thicker than most, Mugen has provided us with a replacement battery cover with a nice soft touch matte back and hey, look at that, it even has a kickstand. I quickly tossed the battery into my Galaxy Nexus and threw it on the charger. I’ve already done a battery cycle and will charge it fully again before testing it all weekend.

In a world where smartphone displays are getting more and more gargantuan, the 3.97-inch display on the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is refreshingly compact. Not everybody needs a 5.3-inch display on their phone (Galaxy Note, I'm looking at you!), and it's nice to see a more pocketable phone for those consumers. In addition, the Galaxy S Blaze 4G ($150 with a two-year contract on T-Mobile; price as of March 20, 2012) has fast data speeds (thanks to T-Mobile's HSPA+ 42 network) and smooth performance powered by a dual-core processor. But regrettably, the phone is riddled with carrier and manufacturer bloatware that you can't easily remove.

Mam co prawda Spydera do monitorów ale nie mam softu i płyty z planszami do TV. Preset W. u mnie jest troszkę "ciepły" przy balansowaniu. Przy ustawianiu ręcznie wg mnie kolorki są ok, ale ta sama temperatura barwowa na presecie wg mnie przekłamuje tzn obraz leci jak juz pisałem w zielone. Nie wiem czemu tak się dzieje bo w z5 czy ustawie tak czy na manual jest ten sam obrazek. Bardzo często ustawiam balans na temp barwową z presetu, światło dzienne czy zwykłe żarówki, przy świetlówkach i świetlówkach energooszczędnych ręcznie. Mam 2 telewizory Samsung 46 C 8000 i w montażowni Samsung 32 C650. Podstawa to dobry telewizor (monitor) W zasadzie to powinien być monitor referencyjny, ale nie mam dostępu do takowego. Na temperaturę rzadko ustawiam bo wtedy kamerki różnią się znacznie, Muszę kupić kalibrator Spyder TV i skalibrować , bo już mnie szlag trafia.

AT&T, Sprint, Samsung, HTC respond to Senator's Carrier IQ request

Several handset manufacturers and wireless carriers have responded to a request from Senator Al Franken for more information regarding the use of Carrier IQ's software. AT&T responded to the Senator's request by saying it has 900,000 handsets with Carrier IQ installed, with around 575,000 of those actively sending data that's supposedly strictly limited to the collection of diagnostic information about their... They also listed three models that have it installed but is non-functional as the software could petentially interfere with handset performance. Sierra Wireless' Shockwave, LG's Thrill, ZTE's Avail and Z331 also feature it. Finally, the carrier is using the software with Sony's Xperia Play. The three are HTC's Vivid, LG's Nitro and Samsung's Skyrocket. Turns out, the software is installed on an estimated 30 million handsets of American consumers.
